One of the most unappreciated widgets among the WordPress Widget collection is the Text Widget.

There are many Widgets that come with WordPress, and many more you can add with Widget WordPress Plugins. The Text Widget is not a WordPress Plugin, it comes with the basic installation of WordPress and WordPress.com. The Text Widget helps you add content that goes beyond these, helping you add simple or complicated things to your sidebar or any widgetized area of your blog.

Many don’t know what to do with it, are afraid or uncertain how to use it, and fearful of HTML, so let’s make this simple and easy and help you explore all the things you can do with the WordPress Text Widget.

  1. Thanks for the link.

The reblog feature is cool, indeed, but it can be a bit spammy. Always be sure to add your own words as you did above as that carries more influence with readers who really want to know why you recommend something rather than just seeing you recommend something.

As for the number of words, while mythology says a post should be about 400 words, research shows that if an article or post is worth reading until the end, people will read it no matter how long it is. 😀

  2. Thx Lorelle,

I appreciate your response. I will try to follow your advice and write longer articles. If it’s alright with you I will take a look at what you do every now and then. And I will mak sure to use the reblog feature with respect.

  3. Thanks. It isn’t a matter of longer articles as much as it is your voice. We want to hear you. We want to know what you think, why you think it, and what you have to say about the world around you. It is your unique voice that the world craves. Give it to them. 😀
